Scyn allowed her to have her peace of mind. He had gotten so used to sacrificing the small echoes of life around him, he forgot that, in some sense, she could hear their cries through the force as well. He forgot how much she hated to see nature twisted and deformed in such a way. Instead of wallowing in self-sorrow for his unconcious misdeed, he simply drifted into meditation. It was his form of sleep. Instead of simply drifting into a random dream, he allowed his consciousness to flow with the force and try to coprehend the events he was going through. Because of the type of jedi he was, he also attempted at quick glances into the future, to possibly see what sort of turmoil lied ahead. Even then, the future is always shifting and changing. He may see one outcome at one moment, but see a completely different one the next.

But as for his current vision, all he saw was fighting. He saw Anya beside him, running from something that he couldn't decypher. All he knew was that it was a sith. Behind her was a battle that raged worse than any sea in a storm. He wondered how long this image would last.

After he had finished with his vision, his consciousness flowed to the life around him. He felt the mourning of the other trees at their lost companion. He knew that if they could move, they would be mourning over top of their camp. It was feelings like this that made it harder and harder for him to be what he was. Then he brushed over Anya's mind and the mind of the half dormant were inside her. He could feel the unsatisfying rage the were had towards him for his act. She was justified, however, she was also not. She didn't see past her rage in thinking that if a shelter wasn't made, there would be no protection against the elements. Even if he hadn't, He had to sacrifice still more in order to make a fire for them. He felt unbiased as he examined her feelings.

Finally, he found what was originally troubling her. She was still confused by his being there. Alive. The were saw what she thought was death. And though he was close to it, she wasn't there to see the rest. She was to taken by her sorrow and pain. He couldn't see past his own pain to feel hers. He never knew.

When he was satisfied, he opened his eyes. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pouch with food he picked up through his journey. It wasn't much, but it was enough to satisfy for now. When he finished eating, his ears perked. He heard a very subtly snap of a fallen branch. They weren't alone. Sensing the oncoming gunfire, he pulled his lightsabers out and let the blades absorb the speeding bullets. His only concern was to find Anya and get her out of there. The same soldiers who had unwittingly captured him the first time were back. He was going to make sure they didn't catch hm again.
