Outskirts of Veksle

This is the wide area around the valley that encloses the were city. Because of the Alpha's disgust of technology, the area around Veksle is kept as natural as possible. Often, it is used for hunting and other sport. It is also known intimately by nearly all the weres of the city; no inch of the area is unknown to them. Several sections are granted to a particular group or individual by the Alphas as a favor, but the outskirts are generally free ground.

The only developed places are the meeting-places and teaching areas for the young weres (be they pups, kits, kittens, or any other type of young). There are several roads running throughout the woods, but they're usually little more than deer paths, and they're easily covered when the seasons change to fall. The forests around Veksle are mainly deciduous, but a smattering of pine trees is prominent toward the Obsequium side.

Hatori walked around the city and headed towards the road to Obsesquium.

As Rakel followed the trail of scents he had picked up a few miles out it brought him to the outskirts of Veksle. Deciding that it would be best to watch these new beings before trying to insert himself among them, he searched the area finding a small cave surrounded by tall oaks, with a clear view of the city if he were to climb a small hill. Rakel then laid out his pack that he had brought with him containing spare clothes and means to keep his blade in shape. The cave was the perfect place to hide. So after securing his belongings in a back corner he ventured forth to watch the town below him.

After a few hours of laying in the sun and getting a good perspective of who he was watching he decided to return to his cave and leave the hunting gear he was cloaked in. Once rid of the weight, and after making sure it was all well hidden, Rakel shifted into the snowy white wolf and gave himself a good shake to work out his sore muscles, leftover from his last change, many days before his arrival. After he had himself ready he left the town and his cave to go hunting. After a couple miles he came across a very promising game area. Though famished as he was, Rakel did not go after the sick animals on the edges preferring to test himself by sneaking into the main herd and attacking one of the males. Scaring off the rest he was still pleased with his kill. After fulfilling his hunger he headed back to a small meadow he had seen when checking the area around his cave. Finally able to lay and relax after his long journey here he spread out under the sun and rested as it slowly sank into the horizon.

The sun rose to a rested and watchful Rakel. Having been up for a few hours he decided to prepare for his journey into the city today. After his watching he came to see that all the weres are not the same. So going for a quick run to relax, an early breakfast and a good, cool, mountain stream swim he was ready to set off. Downing his finer clothing he set off down a game trail to the main entrance. After evaiding a few scattered tribes he came within sites of the main road and no more that five minutes later he was at the cities borers. So Rakel entered the city of Veksle
