PostSubject: Erith Building   Erith Building EmptySat Jan 02, 2010 5:24 pm

The Erith building is a large apartment building owned by Hatori. Passed down to him from his creator after his creator's death. It is a stunning building with a large fish tank in the foyer of the building. Everything in the public part of the building glows and changes color. The top floor is entirely taken up by the master suite in which Hatori now lives. Every other apartment is just as extravagant. You tell how much space you and and the layout and the walls will move to create you a space. But be sure to pay your rent on time or else you might find you have no apartment.

Hatori waited patiently on the elevator to go to the bottom floor of his very tall building. When the elevator stopped he was in the parking garage. He got in his silver Porsche Carrera and tore out of the building. He wasn't sure where he was going but he hoped it would lead to something connecting him to his creator.

When Hatori got to the edge of the the city he stopped his car. What am I doing? There's nothing out here. He looked at his hands Who am I? Who made me? He sighed and turned around and parked his car in the garage again. He got out of his car and went back up the elevator to the lobby. He rushed out of the lobby and stood outside and looked up at the building he owned. What is going to happen to me?

The little 'bot wandered in the front door, traveling a good way behind an overdressed, rather pompous looking fish-woman as she made a beeline towards one of the three glass elevators.

His metal appendages made a soft ringing noise as they struck the tile floor, almost musical in an irritatingly off-key way. Tak-tak-tak-ting! He wandered his way lazily across the hall, avoiding visitors swept up in the fish-woman's wake. Apparently, it was the equivalent of rush hour, REG-117 (PRO) noted dutifully, only caring long enough to prefer to not be stepped upon.

The brightly gilded elevator doors slid closed with a swift swish and the echo of whooshing wind was all that the little 'bot could hear. He promptly sat down in front of the door, peering at it myopically and waiting for it to reopen. Though he couldn't reach the button, he knew that someone must be coming sooner or later. The sense of urgency that the little 'bot had felt before had all but vanished, and he decided to wait patiently rather than bother with hurrying. Plus, if he got lucky, the little 'bot decided, he would even get to take a short nap.

Hatori decided it was time to go back upstairs to his master suite. He headed inside and pressed the button for the elevator. The elevator came quickly and he got on. As far as he noticed no patrons got on the elevator. The doors shut quietly and he keyed in his code for the master. The elevator took off quickly heading for the top floor.

PostSubject: Re: Erith Building   Erith Building EmptyThu May 13, 2010 10:48 pm

A tall, manlike blob swam into REG-117 (PRO)'s rather constricted field of vision and proceeded to call an elevator. Had the little 'bot had the vocal chords, he would have sighed almost dejectedly as he rocked back up to his feet. This newcomer had a certain presence about him that Klank couldn't be bothered to trace.

In any case, the 'bot folloed the man into the elevator apparently completely unnoticed amid the soft ticking noise of his paws and the quiet hum of the elevator's innards. REG-117 (PRO) sat down with a soft whump on the plush, teal carpet that protected the floor from wear and tear.

With a whirr, the 'bot turned his head to regard himself in the seamless mirror where the door ought to have been. He cocked his head to one side, enjoying the glint of his golden metallic outer shell in the setting sun as its rays pealed just over the horizon. He barely reached mid-calf on the man, he noted. Perhaps that was why, even as he punched in a couple numbers on a warmly-lit keypad, the man still hadn't noticed him.

There was a nearly silent whoosh as the elevator began moving, leaving the ground - if not the buildings - below so quickly, it was almost as if the pair were falling up. Klank absorbed this information, counted it as useless, then sat back to wait for the inevitable stop.

The elevator came to a stop and the doors to the elevator slid open quietly to reveal Hatori's master suite. The main room was visible to all those who got off the elevator. There were four white couches in the middle of the room surrounding a small black marble coffee table. On the opposite wall from the elevator there were glass windows and sliding doors. The windows arced because the master suite was basically a big circle with the elevator shaft in the middle. There was a bar on the right wall with a door on the left close to the windows that led to the kitchen. The bar was white with black marble counters. The glass shelves behind the bar were filled with all kinds of liquor. At night the shelves and the counter would illuminate blue and pink. To the left of the elevator was a room divisor which was several rectangles of glass that hung from the ceiling. These illuminated at night like the bar did. To the left of the divider which ran all the way to the windows there was a glass table and white chairs. The table was set for dinner with white table ware.

The sun streamed in the main room making the white carpet even brighter that it should have been. Hatori stepped into the main room. He sighed because he didn't know what to do with himself now. He grabbed onto the necklace around his neck which was broken and stared off into the distance.

Dogging the stranger's heels, REG-117 (PRO) stepped into a room that might have been blindingly white, had it not been for the stark contrast provided by what the 'bot assumed to be black counters. Taking no care to remain either unnoticed or unseen, the robot skirted the man's obviously expensive shoes when they stopped suddenly to allow the man to finger some sort of pendant or necklace or whatever pensively.

Reaching the nearest window, REG-117 (PRO) placed one of his front paws delicately on the gently curving glass like a small child eagerly pressing its hand and face against the window of a candy store. He paused, still as a statue, looking out to the horizon almost longingly as the sun set. Below, people and cars of all shapes and sizes scurried back and forth, almost as if they were afraid of what might happen after the sun finally finished calling to order its long train of amber-colored rays, folding them up for a nighttime rest. The buidings winked up at the little robot in the same token, capturing the last rays and holding onto them as if they were caressing a lover. Here was a city that never wished to sleep. Even now, before the sunset, lights were winking on below, not only the warm, fuzzy glow of the streetlamps, but the sharp, garish flash of clubs and other attractions were already flickering to life. REG-117 (PRO) hummed contentedly, dropping the paw with a silent sigh of contentment.

Though he couldn't see much, with the colors blending and melting like a child's watercolor, this was the view the little 'bot loved best. This was his city, his home, and he could watch over it as he pleased. It was so good to be home. He swiveled his head back to where the man-shaped blob had been standing and wondered at it for a moment. Did he or she care if REG-117 (PRO) had dropped in? It didn't seem the stranger had even noticed the robot following him in, so the 'bot simply shrugged mentally and turned back to the fading sunset.

Reconnection commencing, REG-117 (PRO) whirred, dimming his eyes as he stared out across the oceans of life below.

Hatori finally noticed the small dog shaped robot in his house. He wasn't sure what to do but he decided it was best to talk to it. He walked closer to the little bot sitting in front of the window looking out at the strange yet beautiful and dangerous city. "Window dim the light please." The windows immediately tinted darker so that it was like looking though a pair a sunglasses. "Who are you?" he said looking down at the small bot with interest.

Connection interrupted bleeped through the little 'bot's wires, and he sighed irritably, the noise a grating of gears in his throat. He turned his lamplike eyes to the man towering over him and gave the man what would have been an annoyed, contemptuous look, had the 'bot been able to show expression.

With a series of soft hissing noises, REG-117 (PRO)'s tail-appendage extended, lending him both the appearance of a cat and the label at its base. That done, Klank returned to the window, tapping on it with a finger and cocking its head quizzically to the side amid several creaks and whirrs. His ears tweaked back in a pout, and the 'bot stood crankily to begin trundling off to another area of the suite.

"Computer." Hatori snapped out.

"Yes Hatori." the suite's computer's disembodied voice said.

"What is this thing?" he mumbled out.

The computer took a moment to respond "I have done a scan and determined that this is REG-177 (PRO)."

Hatori looked down at the little bot and asked "REG-177 (PRO) can you speak?"

The robot swished his tail irritably and continued walking, ignoring Hatori completely. Too much work to talk, he decided. The little robot could communicate verbally, but it was only through a series of whistles, creaks and pops carefully manipulated until they became something akin to words. As a general rule, REG-117 (PRO) tended to act as if he couldn't talk in order to avoid the trouble of trying.

He clambered onto a chair at the bar and curled his tail around himself regally. He turned his head to the man dubiously and placed his front paws on the countertop, flashing his red eyes slightly before turning back.

Hatori sighed and ran his hand through his hair roughly. "Da*nit why does this always happen to me." He turned around and paced for a minute. "Fine sit there and don't leak on anything." He turned and went through the door on the far right wall that led into his bedroom.

The bedroom had oak wood floors that were polished to a nice shine that glinted beautifully in the setting sun. There were only four piece of furniture in his room. The bed was on the opposite wall. It was very low to the ground and was covered in a white comforter with black and white throw pillows. The frame was a solid base that was painted with a black lacquer that caused it to shine. To each side of the bed were two bedside tables that were painted with the same black lacquer. The black lacquer painted dresser was on the same wall as the door. Sitting on the right bedside table was a white modern design lamp with a silver base. Covering the windows to his left was a sheer wall of white curtains that flowed gracefully from ceiling to floor. On the right wall was a closet and the door leading to the bathroom. Hatori walked through his room and into the bathroom to take a shower.

The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath tub in the far left hand corner. In front of his was a white porcelain sink with a large slab of mirror behind it. Next to the sink was a toilet with a small tissue box on top of it. Next to the tub encased in glass was a huge rain drip shower. Hatori closed the door and disrobed. The white tile floor was cold on his feet so he quickly stepped on the white bath mat and turned on the shower. As the shower warmed up he looked at himself in the mirror. He was very ripped and most women thought he was handsome. He poked at his skin amazed that he looked so human. Even naked. His creator didn't miss anything and he was certainly no slob either. Hell his creator made sure he was well endowed in all departments from money, to smarts, to physique.

PostSubject: Re: Erith Building   Erith Building EmptyMon Jun 21, 2010 11:15 pm

The little robot cocked his head at the man - he was pretty sure the creature was male; the timbre of its voice was too low to suggest otherwise - as he left the room. REG-117 (PRO) clambered up to the counter, swishing his tail as he searched for paper and some sort of writing utensil. He may not deign to talk, but as long as the man who lived in this place demanded information, the little robot was willing to write.

He searched every drawer he could reach, curling his prehensile tail around different objects in attempts to reach a little lower behind the bar. It was, as always, the last drawer that held what he needed, a large, yellowed pad of paper, crisp and clean next to several sleek, silvery pens shaped like stretched lozenges.

He pulled out one of the pens and the pad of paper, retreating to his original stool to ponder and write. He looked at the pad of paper almost as quizzically as a schoolboy wondering how to start an essay, letting his logic circuits rove over whatever they willed before he began. Bits and pieces of the "thoughts" found their way onto the paper pad, wandering and spider-silk thin.

After a while, the little robot blinked myopically at the pad and nodded. That was good enough. He tapped the metal casing of the pen on his chin and included a short scribble at the bottom. "Klank, sir, I have found to be a much easier name. And as I have decided to stay a bit unless otherwise told, I would prefer to be addressed as such."

He placed the pad and pen on the bench and curled up comfortably on the cushion of the chair, making a soft curl from his metal body and lounging there until he fell into "sleep" mode for the night.

Hatori stepped into the shower and washed himself off quickly. Hell it was amazing there he could even get wet considering he wasn't human. He stepped out of the shower and toweled off using the white fluffy towel. He dropped it to the floor and walked into his freezing bedroom. Without bothering for pajamas he flopped down onto his bed and fell asleep as the last rays of sun dipped below the horizon casting his room into darkness.

Klank "slept" soundly that night; the only thing that moved was his ears, twitching back and forth at every small sound. His sensors twinged at him every hour, keeping up with the inexorable ticking away of time until, as they insistently bleeped at him, the sun began to rise again.

The little robot's lamplike eyes flickered groggily as he turned to look out of the window wall, which, still tinted, blocked the thin, spidery waves of first light from entering into the room. REG-117 (PRO) thought about getting up, but decided against it, instead settling back down until - he hoped - the afternoon. There were noises from the inner chamber, but the little 'bot ignored them completely. Unless the man decided to interact with him, the robot would pretend to be alone.

Hatori's eyes opened to the sun glaring into his bedroom. He blinked his eyes a few times so that they could adjust. He sat up a little chilled. He finally realized that he had fallen asleep naked. He pushed himself off the bed and groggily walked to his closet.

He pulled the double doors open at reveal a ridiculously neat closet just like the rest of his apartment. The left side was doubled leveled. The top rod held oxfords and polos. The bottom rod held dress pants. The right side of the closet held full suits and the bottom held a shoe rack. The middle of the closet was a series of drawers. He opened the top drawer and pulled out a pair of briefs and put them on. He closed that drawer and pulled out the second drawer which held several pairs of jeans. He picked a pair and pulled them on as well. He looked for his belt on the door where the hook was empty. He cursed as he realized that it was still on his pants from yesterday.

He shut the drawer, turned and walked into his bathroom where his clothes from the previous day were strewn across the floor. He grumbled a little at himself for not cleaning up last night. He opened his bathroom closet and pitched the dirty clothes into his hamper but took his reversible belt off his pants before tossing them in too. He put his belt on quickly and grabbed his deodorant out of the closet and put it on before putting it back and shutting the door. He washed his face and placed his washrag back on the rack.

He walked back to his closet and opened the third drawer down and pulled out a red t-shirt. He pulled it over his head and pulled his necklace out of his shirt. He shut the t-shirt drawer and opened the last one momentarily to pull out a pair of socks. He shut it and his closet.

Hatori walked back into the bathroom. He sat on the toilet and put on his shoes and black converse. He stood up in front of the mirror and brushed his long hair. When he was done he walked out to the living area. The little bot was still asleep. Hatori noticed a pad of paper on the counter. He read it and smiled saying the bot's name out loud "Klank huh. Cute name." He picked out the pen and pad and walked over to stand in front of the little bot.

"Klank?" Hatori said to the sleeping bot hoping he'd wake up.

Nihilimeya walked up to the apartment door, feeling as if her next destination was there. This place had better help her or she would tear down this entire damned city. She knocked on the door and waited a moment for a response.

"Hello?" She asked, growing impatient. "Is anyone there? I'm looking for someone and I heard you might have a clue. I'll compensate for your time."

The 'bot stretched and sat up at Hatori's voice. He peered up at the man myopically. What is it that he wants? REG-117 (PRO) considered becoming grumpy at being awoken, but it wasn't worth it; there would be too much effort for too little gain. So the 'bot simply sat and stared up at the man intently.

There was a hard rapping on the door and Klank's head whirred around to stare at it, his ears perked attentively. He was vaguely curious, but not enough to entice him to move from his position. His red eyes flashed as if he had blinked, but that was the 'bot's only move.

Ah, a droid. Nihilimeya thought. She closed her eyes intently and honed into the droids processing core. As smooth as a snake, she weaved through its internal memory and pricked among the several recordings it stored until she found what she wanted. The droid had met Scyn before, but only for a moment. Enough for her to be able to determine his destination after meeting the droid.

nihilimeya turned and walked out of the building, preparing to make her way back to Obesquium. She needed to speak to the demon child to see what sort of torture she had planned for her prey.
